I'm a wife, mother, daughter, GRANDMOTHER!, educator. Like most women my age (62), I'm learning to live in (and even enjoy) the empty nest. After spending 3 decades working in the public schools as a teacher, principal and university professor, Mack and I got off the corporate and school treadmills and moved to the beach...a little third-worldish barrier island - and it changed our lives. Instead of lesson plans and committee meetings, my life changed to travel, writing, community theater, cooking, church committee work, Praise & Worship choir, cello lessons, and lots of crafting! Most importantly, we now have four (FOUR) grand babies! We have recently moved back to the town where we raised our three sons, and live 5 doors down from our youngest and his wife and four baby boys. We kept the beach house and get there as often as we can. The oldest grand loves it there, and we are hopeful that the whole gang will soon join us for long summer days. These are busy days - soccer practice and games with the boys, babysitting as often as we can. Sleepovers. Sunday dinners after church. Grace. Mack and I still travel. i still write and play (at) the cello. I do a lot of crafting, a little entertaining, and we have taken up vegetable gardening. We are enjoying our lives - and really enjoying those babies. I'm glad that you have joined me on this blogging journey. I learn something new every day by reading the blogs of others - things that regularly enrich my life. I hope that you can find something here on these pages that will enrich yours.
