Letter to My 13-Year Old Self
My sister Kelly sent out a text to many of the women in her life, asking each of us to write a letter in honor of her daughter Kennedy’s 13th birthday. The request read, “please write a note to Kennedy, telling her one thing that you wish you had known when you were 13.” Since I can’t let good enough alone, I came up with 13 things that I wish I’d known.
Included in this blog is a copy of the little booklet that I made for Kennedy. While all 13 were important nuggets, to me, the most important was the final one, “You’ve always had the power, my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself.” – Glinda the Good Witch. If all 13 year old girls took that advice to heart, the world would be a different, better place. What I know about our Kennedy, is that she already knows this!
